Effective Date: May 1, 2026
Owner: Wizcart Technologies Incorporated / Applicant
This Background Verification Consent and Declaration is issued by WIZCART TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED, a British Columbia corporation (corporation number BC1541387, incorporated 27 May 2025 under the BC Business Corporations Act) extra-provincially registered to carry on business in Alberta (Alberta corporate access number 2128144090) ("Wizcart", "we", "us", or "our"). Wizcart operates the Wizcart technology marketplace platform in Canada. Public legal notices, operational correspondence, and mailing communications may be sent to Wizcart at 903 8 Ave SW Office - 931, Calgary, AB T2P 0P7, Canada.
This consent applies to prospective and existing Service Providers who must complete identity, credential, and background verification as a marketplace trust and safety condition of Platform access.
Wizcart engages an independent third-party verification provider to conduct verification for marketplace trust and safety. Verification helps protect Users who may receive in-person Provider Services at private residences, offices, vehicles, or other premises. Verification is not employment screening, hiring, or employer vetting by Wizcart. Current verification provider information is available on request to privacy@wizcart.com.
I authorize Wizcart and its designated verification provider to collect, use, disclose, and process personal information reasonably necessary for:
identity verification, including government identification and address confirmation;
business, licence, permit, certification, insurance, or credential validation;
platform-eligibility verification that I am legally permitted to offer the Provider Services I propose, where required by applicable law or category-specific licensing standards (this is not employment work-authorization);
criminal-record, sanctions, watchlist, or public-record screening where permitted by law and proportionate to the service category; and
repeat screening at reasonable intervals or where a verified safety, fraud, or compliance concern arises.
Verification information is handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and other applicable provincial privacy laws. Criminal-record information is treated as sensitive personal information and is subject to enhanced safeguards. Where information is processed outside Canada (currently Canada, the United States, and India per the Privacy Policy), it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access requests. You may contact privacy@wizcart.com for information about Wizcart's cross-border processing practices and the safeguards that apply.
Verification records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for marketplace trust and safety, dispute resolution, regulatory inquiry, legal defence, fraud prevention, or as otherwise required or permitted by law. Active Service Provider records may be retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period after deactivation, typically up to three (3) years. Rejected applicant records may be retained longer, typically up to seven (7) years, where necessary to defend legal claims or regulatory inquiries. Retention is subject to applicable access and correction rights.
I may withdraw this consent by contacting privacy@wizcart.com, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Because verification is a mandatory marketplace trust and safety requirement, withdrawal of consent may result in denial, suspension, restriction, or termination of Platform access.
I understand that Wizcart does not conduct background checks itself and relies on the independent verification provider. Verification has inherent limitations, including false positives, false negatives, incomplete databases, reporting delays, and jurisdictional variations. Wizcart's receipt or review of verification results does not guarantee that I am safe, qualified, insured, licensed, compliant, suitable, or able to perform any Provider Service.
If I believe verification information is inaccurate or incomplete, I may request access to the report, dispute information with the verification provider, and ask Wizcart to reconsider an adverse Platform-access decision based on corrected information. I may also exercise privacy access and correction rights by contacting privacy@wizcart.com.
I declare that all information I provide to Wizcart and the verification provider is true, accurate, current, and complete. I understand that false, incomplete, misleading, doctored, expired, or outdated information may result in denial, suspension, restriction, or termination of Platform access and may make me liable for resulting claims, losses, penalties, damages, insurance denial, regulatory action, or customer claims.
I understand that this verification requirement does not create, imply, or constitute an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, dependent-contractor, or representative relationship between me and Wizcart.
Wizcart captures your acceptance of this Background Verification Consent and Declaration through checkbox acceptance during Service Provider onboarding. By checking the applicable "I agree" or equivalent acceptance checkbox in the Platform, you confirm that you have read this Consent and Declaration, that you understand it, and that you agree to be bound by it. Wizcart records the following information on Wizcart's servers as evidence of your acceptance:
the date and time you checked the acceptance checkbox;
the version of this Consent and Declaration you accepted;
your IP address; and
your User-Agent (browser and device information).
Wizcart captures additional checkbox acceptance from you at the following moments during onboarding and ongoing Platform use:
when you submit identity documents, licences, insurance certificates, or other documentation for Wizcart review, you also self-declare by checking an acknowledgment checkbox that the documents are true, accurate, current, complete, and not doctored or altered;
when you set up your financial profile (including your Stripe Connect account or other payout method), you check an acknowledgment that you accept the applicable payment and tax terms.
